About this deal

I like that the guidebook touches on the best practices for preparing to read and reading tarot, and also includes four examples of spreads to try, such as the Cat's Paw five-card spread. There's also advice on how to interpret the spread—not just the individual cards themselves but how they work as a group, the qualities they share, and their differences. Y'all, I love Tarot so much, I write games using the cards as inspiration. I was thus utterly delighted when offered the chance to review this set of Tarot cards, that adapts the classic Rider-Waite imagery to feature adorable cats of all breeds and colors. I admiringly refer to myself as a cat lady. I've also spent nearly all of my years obsessed with witches in pop culture— Practical Magic and The Craft were on constant replay in my house. If you've ever lived with cats, you'll know there's a bit of a crossover. Cats feel like magical creatures in tiny, furry bodies. They are weird and funny, sweet, and protective. Y’all, I love Tarot so much, I write games using the cards as inspiration. Never Deal With a Dragon / Choose Your Enemies Carefully / Find Your Own Truth by Robert N. Charrette Again, the illustrations and quality of the cards impressed me. They are of medium size with a matte finish. They shuffle well to begin with and feel sturdy as you do so. However, I didn’t feel this was a huge issue, as most of the cards were easy to read intuitively through symbolism and imagery. Key Cards Before diving into the upright and reversed meanings of each card, the guidebook provides us with help in getting to know the Tarot. Cats Rule The Earth Tarot and guidebook is cat themed, combining ancient mysticism with feline illustrationsIt explains the difference between the suits, how numbers play a role in Tarot reading and provides advice for new Tarot readers to develop their skills. We also have an array of spreads to perform with helpful tips on how to read for ourselves and others. There are cats playing with yarns of wool, cats chasing butterflies, cats snuggling with one another… So many cats! I liked how cards that deal with struggle and pain, such as the Five of Swords, depict cats with injuries. It allows us to get to know the card’s meaning from the imagery. When I am working, and Mavis wants my attention, she will sit on my desk and slowly push all my pens and bit and bobs off. The smile on the cat on the Four of Cups is reminiscent of Mavis when she does this – they know what they are doing! Catherine Davidson has been reading tarot for twenty years, and believes that it is a tool that anyone can use to enhance their intuition and shape their future. Catherine has written on a range of spiritual practices including: meditation, mindfulness and dreamwork. The Cats Rule the Earth guidebook is fantastic for beginners and more experienced readers. It includes everything you need to know about Tarot, and even as an experienced reader, I found reflecting on its advice extremely useful. The Cards When these cards will start to look used it will only bring more charm to the vintage lay-out of this cards, similar to used lenormand cards. Personally I'm not bothered by it, on the contrary. Some cards have imagery that is quite different from traditional depictions of the cards, which can be confusing for beginners. Of course, I lovethe artwork. But, the Two of the Pentacles is all about balancing and juggling priorities, which I could not see in the card.Cats are connected with the night, and according to the guidebook, ‘ see and hear things that we cannot.’ Tarot is similar to this. It is a tool to explore the unknown and dive into our subconscious. Overall, I think that this is an excellent set both for collectors and for people new to Tarot, but especially for cat-lovers with an interest in the art of divination, regardless of level of familiarity. It makes a perfect Halloween or Christmas or anytime gift for any of your loved ones (yourself included!)

They have a lot of other stunning feline-inspired spiritual content. A feast for the eyes!
